The NuLOOQ Professional Series provides you with a better way to work with core applications like Adobe Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2. Design objects and applications more successfully, and avoid the more time-intensive elements of design; in other words, you work smarter with the NuLooq. A perfect partner for your keyboard and mouse or tablet, it gives graphics designers precise control of option values, effortless navigation of creative imagery and new control over your creativity. NOTE – For best results, it is recommended that users have Adobe Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS, InDesign CS2 System Requirements – Mac OS X (10.4.4 or later), Windows XP (SP2 or higher), and Windows Vista

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star discontinued
FYI, logitech has discontinued this product. They even pulled the drivers off the website. So – regarding some people’s issues with usability with software packages (like having to continue to use CS2 while waiting for Nulooq to support CS3 for example) – if this product stops working with the next upgrade you will either have to 1.) not upgrade your software or 2.) stop using this device. So get this only if you plan on using compatible (old?) software for a while.

3 Stars Well…
I like the idea of this product, but it has no support for the most recent Adobe products that I wanted to use it for, and I’ve not developed a habit of using it. So it’s just a nice light effect for my office.

1 Star Not for OSX Leopard users
The problem with this navigator is that Logitech abandoned support and updates for OSX 10.5. So it will still work for zooming in and out of applications and scrolling but there’s no software to customize applications to interact with the navigator.

I used it extensively for Photoshop in OSX 10.4 and it was very efficient to speedup my workflow. Too bad Logithech decided to strip this great tool of its functionality.

3 Stars NuLooq Not Bad
I needed to download newer software than came with the device because of a recent upgrade to OSX10.5. The device is either more limited than I thought it would be, or its real power remains hidden. I still can’t get it to change my brush size in CS3, which is like the main thing it’s touted as being able to do. It is, however, the BEST way to make one’s way around Google Earth.

5 Stars Biggest assets are quality and maximized functionality in minimal footprint
I’m very impressed with this product. Quality is top notch as noted by others.

I also wanted to address my original concern with someone’s comment about top buttons (triggers) being loud and difficult to press: it’s quite the opposite. While not touch-sensitive (capacitive), these surrounding buttons require low pressure to activate and emit a soft click. An interesting surprise was finding out that the middle button is a capacitive one.

I am using this product for Serato Scratch Live and it’s perfect for my needs.

    User Ratings and Reviews

    1 Star Bad quality control
I bought this to connect my upscaling DVD player with a new Samsung LCD TV which has no DVI inputs. The picture was pink and snowy at 720p, then flickered on and off when I changed the output to 1080i (while still being pink and snowy). I connected the player to the TV using a composite cable and the picture was fine although it couldn’t upconvert. Given the other reviews here, it seems like this cable works great or it doesn’t work at all. Do you feel lucky?

2 Stars Cable Stopped Working after 4 months
When I first received the cable it worked fine. Then one day the screen turned white, thought it was my componets, but it wasn’t, it was the cable.

    1 Star Not as pictured
Item received was longer than 6 ft and light grey, not black. If these things are important to you, don’t buy.

5 Stars No problems on both Windows and Mac OS X
I’m using this cable with a late-2007 MacBook Pro 15″ under Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Windows XP SP3 (with Boot Camp). The HDMI end is plugged into a 720p projector. In both operating systems, this cable has worked perfectly, without any problems whatsoever. Works great for playing video games, watching TV shows online, etc. As far as reliability is concerned, I’ve had it since August 2008 and no problems so far.

As another reviewer pointed out, it’s worth noting that the cable color itself is definitely a light gray and not the black that is shown on the product page. I’ll upload a picture at some point showing this.

    5 Stars great
works perfectly, i used it to connect my ps3 to my 22″ monitor and it guves a 1080i res, which is awesome!

5 Stars Bought for my 6 year old Daughter (twin a). Excellent.
You cant go wrong with an iPod…..they are simple and they work. My twins both got one of these because they wanted to be like their older brother.

They are psyched!!!! Thats what I am told.

3 Stars Size is good, but wish iit held more music.
I enjoy the size for ridding my bike, but I wish it held more music. I do really like the clip on the back, it’s strong and hold on well.

    3 Stars low end IPOD
Not bad for limited functionality but go with a nano or higher. I used this for awhile but it’s annoying scrolling threw songs without a screen to see the titles, just basic basic functionality….I accidently wasted mine in a washing machine, the battary will still charge but the IPOD will no longer work obviously. It’s built well with it’s metal housing so it can take pretty much whatever you can throw at it, but again to basic for me.

    5 Stars Super Gizmo
Stores every song I want to hear

Rechargable feature is fantastic, no more toting batteries to the gym

4 Stars More love than hate
    I love

    - the design

    - the ease of use

    - the weight

    - to clip it everywhere

    - the size

    - the quality

    I hate

    - that there is no display

    - the iTunes software restrictions

    - that it is still expensive

    User Ratings and Reviews

    5 Stars Great Software
After hearing about how great Time Machine is, I bought Leopard for this alone. Time Machine is amazing. Did the upgrade install and it worked out well.

Recommend Leopard although I heard rumors of Snow Leopard as well.

Short review, but Leopard is worth it.

    3 Stars upgrading
buying Leopard was easy. saved a little money too, so that’s always nice. upgrading to Leopard… why does it have to take up so much memory!!!! it’s not that different enough from my old OS, but takes up so many Gigs! i was on 10.2 before the upgrade. oh well, it’s done now.

5 Stars Great OS (though X11 is messed up)
Like Tiger before it, Leopard is worth every penny. Time machine works seamlessly (if you don’t make the same mistake I did and use a LaCie drive for backup – it will fail sooner rather than later). Most new features are excellent. Unfortunately, the new X11 that ships with Leopard is badly messed up (at least when I installed it a while ago). Luckily, you can download the latest build from http://xquartz.macosforge.org is you need to use X11 professionally. Overall, Leopard is great and worth the upgrade!

    2 Stars Nightmare 10.5
Basically beware. You WILL have to do a complete clean install. Once you do so, many applications that formally worked fine, will no longer. Some will not even work with the new system. Many apps will need to you re-install, others will ask you again for serial numbers and activations. Make sure you have all those numbers handy. Sorry for those who have “borrowed” applications, chances are, you’ll never be able to use them again.

I had gotten Leopard as a door prize at a motion graphics event. It took me a year to have a free weekend where I thought why not. Why not turned into about three weeks of trouble-shooting, borrowing wired keyboards from work and having to turn down freelance projects because I had to re-install apps, re-install the plug ins and even at this point there are two 3D applications I use that I now have to pay for the upgrade on in order to use them.

In the end, not only wasn’t it worth it to upgrade, but the bells and whistles are more of a gimmick than something that would help me in my daily workflow. Time Machine became so annoying I turned it off, yeah great, it’s there, but it eats up all the space on your external drives until you chose to delete older saves. Spaces? Why? Full screen iChat? I don’t like to talk on the phone let alone see someone on my screen and have them see me, yuck. So in a word, yuck!

3 Stars Needs more kinks worked out
Leopard still has a number of bugs which can be limiting in its use compared to the very stable and bug free 10.4. Wish I had waited. So frustrating to go from trouble free to a number of issues which limit my computer use and are difficult if not possible at this time to resolve with Apple.

    User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Worth it for Keynote alone, all around very good
Keynote is so much more intuitive and polished than Powerpoint that I would gladly pay twice the price for Keynote alone. I also like Pages very much for its elegant and simple approach, though it doesn’t beat Word by nearly as much as Keynote beats Powerpoint. Numbers still needs some work, but is already very promising (I still use Excel for more complex tasks.

My one big gripe is the lack of an auto-save function. These applications do crash (though Keynote never crashed on me during a presentation) and I have lost many hours of work because I didn’t save often enough. So: Make sure to save often!

    3 Stars Buyer beware
I can’t speak about the other programs, but “Pages” is a joke. It is a program for amateurs, not professionals. One example of its shortcomings is the following: if you want to cut or copy a body of text, and you have your heart set on the pasted text having the same font /font size / style, you have to pull down a special command called “Paste and match style.” This is comical. Why didn’t they make the cutting and pasting work properly in the first place? That’s like saying “Here is your new dishwasher. It cleans beautifully, But if you want to turn it on, you’ll have to push a special button in the back.”

Not to mention that if there is an underlined word in the text you cut or copied, the underlining won’t come out in the pasted text.

Apple has put professional writers in a bind. The Imac will not support Appleworks, “Pages” is a joke, Microsoft Word is clunky and costs money. I may have to send my Imac back to Amazon, on the grounds that “product does not meet my expectations.”

    Let the buyer beware.

5 Stars A Solid Office Suite
This would be a great choice for people looking for a low-priced office suite. I have to say that this one is better than Office. Pages is the equivalent of Word and Publisher. Keynote is the equivalent of PowerPoint and Numbers is the equivalent of Excel. Looking at it, the price is cheaper and has more than Office, although Office has Entourage, OS X has Mail already. Keynote is much better than PowerPoint and Pages is getting closer to beating Word. I haven’t used Numbers, so I don’t know much about it. I would recommend this product to anyone.

    5 Stars Apple iWork ‘08
A useful addition to creating & handling Apple files. More stable than Microsoft Office for Mac.

    5 Stars Never looking back
I finally made the switch to Apple, and I’m never going back to a PC again. I also refuse, if I can help it, to use any microsoft products. After the debacle that was Vista, I’m boycotting everything that they produce.

After being deserted with a $1300 paper weight by Dell, I’m so very happy that I now have a Mac with some amazing Apple software to work with.

I love using iWork! It is extremely intuitive and comfortable. When I have to use Office for school I find it to be clunky and annoying when compared to the ease of use that the Apple programs provide.

So far I’ve produced a ton of documents in Pages, am working on a Keynote presentation (just can’t drag and drop, need to have pics on the hard drive and use insert to have them transfer to Powerpoint for school), and have explored Numbers for a bit. Everything looks great and simply… works! So much better than my waste of cash laptop that would crash with each and every application that I would try and run.

I am, however, thankful. If it wasn’t for the useless products currently being produced by the PC world I never would have switched!

Aperture also lets you sync your Aperture library to an iPhone or iPod. Or enjoy your photos on a widescreen TV in glorious high definition using Apple TV.

    User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Not a bad Step Up
I purchased this product because I was looking for something more than just the iphoto my Mac comes with. I can tell that I have opened the door to a whole new world. This product was cheaper than an Adobe Pro program and better than Photo shop Elements. I am overal happy with my purchase and I look forward to getting all that I can out of this.

5 Stars Aperture Vs Nikon Capture NX2
I used the trial version of Aperture and Nikon Capture NX2 back to back for about a month. Both are great programs and I believe I would be happy with either. Ultimately I choose Aperture for its familiar interface and believe Apple will continue to ensure compatibility with OSX for a long time to come. Nikon support is excellent but their new proprietary RAW format that works only with Microsoft Windows took me by surprise. Not that I am affected because so far the new RAW format is only on their point and shoot cameras, I still felt slightly betrayed and uncertain what the future relationship with Apple will be. I figure no matter what happens I will still be able to use the same software to catalog and edit my photos.

5 Stars Thoroughly Pleased with Aperture 2
I am an amateur at best and I took advantage of both free trial offers from Aperture 2 and LightRoom. Although LightRoom was similar, to me there was no comparison. I went into it with no experience and was totally objective in my opinion and found Aperture to be much much better. Used the same photo in both and consistently got better results in Aperture, with a more seamless flow to the work. One mans opinion !!

    5 Stars A MUST HAVE
APERTURE 2 for MAC is a complex program. You will need to get a large detailed manual, or better yet, sign up for some classes at your Apple store. There are plenty of photo editing tools, all of the usual ones plus plenty more, allowing you to be as creative as you want to be. But probably the main purpose of this program is a way to organize and categorize your images within Aperture. In iPhoto, I have so many copies of the same image in so many folders, and sometimes the one I want is still hard to find. Aperture gets you away from folders. It takes time to do it right, but when you do, finding the image you want is a breeze. You assign various keywords to each image, whichever ones are appropriate for you, and as many as you want per image. When you complete that project, you can search by any keyword, and all of the images you have assigned that keyword to will show up. It couldn’t be easier. But you will need help in getting this done so you do it right. I take classes at my Apple store, the One-to-One classes.

    5 Stars Graduated from iphoto
Quick access to photos for very easy modification. Much more editing, organizing, and viewing options then iphoto and is worth the $$. Iphoto was too basic plus it did not provide and option for use with an external editor like PT Lens. I have used Photoshop Element, ACDC and like Aperture the best.
