Sony BDP S350 1080p Blu ray Disc Player

Experience the next wave of home entertainment with this Blu-ray Disc player, featuring Dolby TrueHD and BD-Live compatibility. Featuring BD-Live compatibility, you can take full advantage of the Bonus View feature of select Blu-ray movies as well as acquire the latest features and updates as they become available. This player also outputs a Full 1080/24p True Cinema picture, plus upscales your existing DVD collection to 1080p when using the HDMI connection. Superior picture quality isn’t the only thing you’ll notice, the BDP-S350 comes with Dolby TrueHD which delivers sound as stunning as the high definition picture itself. Bringing it all together is the icon based Xross Media Bar, which provides simple navigation of the player’s menu system. Quick start-up mode allows operation in less than 6 seconds from when Sony Blu-ray Disc player is powered on. Dolby TrueHD delivers lossless studio master quality audio designed specifically for high definition entertainment like Blu-ray Disc. An incredible sound stage, dynamic range and a stellar Home Theater experience await you with Dolby TrueHD. With up to 7.1 channels of surround sound and audio that is indistinguishable from the original studio version, Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD promises you an extraordinary surround experience. DVD Upscaling via HDMI gets the most out of your existing DVD collection by upscaling standard definition video to near HD quality. Precision Cinema HD upscale uses high bandwidth digital-to-analog conversion and processing to detect image changes at the pixel level, rather than at the level of whole scan lines. Additionally, separate algorithms are used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from motion artifacts. Ethernet port provides connectivity to a home broadband connection so you can download network updates.
1 Star Terribly SLOW!! Get the PS3.
I did a side by side comparison with the PS3. The PS3 loads disks more than twice as fast. Plus some newer Blu-ray disks wouldn’t even work on this model. The PS3 also has a great system for storing pictures, videos, and music. Don’t waste your money on this…get the PS3 even if you don’s play games.
5 Stars WOW!!!
I can’t compare to other players because I have nothing to compare to but for people wondering whether blu-ray players really are an improvement over regular dvd all I can say is wow, what a picture! Blu-ray is awesome and I highly recommend this player. I also bought an hdmi cable Mediabridge Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable – 6ft – Version 1.3b Category 2 – 1080p – PS3 – Blu-Ray here on Amazon and it is so easy to hook this player up. Awesome!
5 Stars GREAT BF PLAYER
Bought this today and tested it with 5 BDs. Loads fast and has a great picture. Worth every penny I paid on a BF sale. Very small case and the live function works as advertised.
5 Stars Don’t believe the nay-sayers
I bought my BDP-S350 a couple of weeks ago when the price dipped to $219. I’ve been researching Blu-ray players for several months now and I’m glad I waited.
The BDP-S350 is *not* slow like it’s predecessor. It loads BDs and DVDs faster than my previous upconverting Philips player. Does a better job upconverting than the Philips did too.
If you want the best picture for the best price for the best hardware bang-for-your-buck, get the Sony, and upgrade your firmware. It works fast and well.
5 Stars Sony really got it together on this one! VERY RECOMMENDED
I am an early adopter. Back in the late 70s I bought the very first VHS tape recorder/player model offered for sale in the US, a Panasonic that weighed as much as a boat anchor, had no frills, an all mechanical transport and probably put out about as much video quality as a cheap webcam. Price at the time, $1000.00!
Many years later, I bought one of the first DVD player models ever offered for sale in the US, a Panasonic model that cost $750 at the time, when the units were only for sale in California, and there were only seven (7!) titles for sale in DVD format.
With that experience, I thought I would wait a couple of years or so for the Blu-Ray format to get a catalog of titles going, and for the players to work out some early problems and to drop in price. Finally, the Sony BDP-S350 came along, and user comments suggested that Sony seemed to have worked out a lot of Sony’s early Blu-Ray player issues. And, the price finally dropped to where you didn’t feel like a sucker for overpaying for technology that you knew would have aggressive price cuts when Xmas came around.
I have NOT been disappointed! This unit is simply fantastic. The load times are modest and the startup, from standby mode, is really not much greater than many regular DVD players. Blu-Ray playback, and the user interface, is superb, and it is also a superb 1080p upsamlping regular DVD player.
The remote is well laid out and the unit has just been great. I had avoided Sony DVD players, for a lot of reasons. But they really got it together on this one. VERY RECOMMENDED.

5 Stars Blu-Ray Picture is Amazing
I was not planning on getting a blu-ray player, but this came free with the Panasonic TV we ordered on Amazon (at the time). How can you beat that!!
Needless to say, we will never go back to regular DVD! We watched Tropic Thunder the other night, the colors were so bright and the picture almost seemed 3-D at times.
Had it not been free, I might have considered a player with a few more options (or a PS3), but for a pretty basic player, works like a charm.
2 Stars Upconversion of DVDs not available on component outputs
There is much to love about this player but buyer beware. The upconversion of DVDs is only possible with the HDMI output. If you need to use the component outputs as I do, your DVDs will play at 480P not 720P or 1080P.
The network interface was trivial to setup and I was immediately able to update my firmware revision. Very nice.
5 Stars Great Upgrade from Last Year’s Blu Ray Players
I had a Sony Blu Ray Player I purchased last year. While I had generally no complaints about the player, it unfortunately did not pass a DTS Master Audio signal (only the base DTS code) to my receivier. Therefore, I upgraded this year. Based on a lot of the reviews here and on other sites, I went with the Panasonic BD35K. The first unit I received I had to return because it would not read any disc. As usual, Amazon made that easy and painless. The second unit works great. I connected via HDMI cable to my Sony receiver which can decode all the new Dolby and DTS codecs. Another HDMI cable goes from the receiver to the Sony SXRD TV. The blu ray disc films seem somewhat sharper to me than when played on the prior blu ray player. The up-convert of regular DVD discs is excellent; even better than last year’s Sony. The load times are much faster than my older blu ray player. I do not have the player connected directly to the internet so updated the firmware via file transfer, which was simple and quick. Overall, I could not be more pleased with the upgrade. Whether the unit is better than the Sony 350 which is slightly less expensive, I cannot say. I am certainly satisifed with the Sony gear I have, but I am glad I gave the Panasonic unit a try.
4 Stars Good Product
I bought this product based on the reviews from [...]. It was a good price and a profile 2.0 player. It has network support for easy firmware updates and additional content. The player is not sluggish at all. I first plugged it in with component cables and there was a noticeable line refresh problem so I connected with an HDMI cable and the problem is gone. You might want to consider BD55K. I did not troubleshoot the problem. It could have been the component cables. I inserted my SDHC card and it viewed pictures ok but would not show or play .AVI files…bummer!
5 Stars Operates as designed
Great player, great price. I fail to see why a person would spend more. I watched Wall-e and Tropic Thunder on my 60″ Sony KDS2000 in full 1080p – what can can I say – it blows you away. The picture quality is beautiful. The sound through my Pioneer 1018 Receiver is also incredible. The player operates without a glitch and synced seamlessly with my other components. Load time, though I didn’t time it – was certainly reasonable. My first venture into Bluray and I’m going to find it difficult to ever watch or listen to a movie in another format. Good stuff. As a bonus, it came double boxed in a flawless shipping carton. Love Amazon.

Sony BDP S550 1080p Blu ray Player

BD-Live Ready / Full HD 1080p/24p and 60p AVC-HD w/x.v.Color Output / Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD / 1080p HD Upscaling / BRAVIA Sync / HDMI
5 Stars Outstanding
This blu ray player is at the top of the food chain. Not only does it have bd live, it comes with a usb card to store content. The menu is easy to navigate and it gives brilliant video and audio. Sony has done it again.
5 Stars It does the job well
I have had my Sony Bdp-s550 for a little over a month now. I have it running through a Denon 4306 AVR which does not decode the lossless audio. The s-550 will decode the audio and send it out through HDMI in which the receiver will show MULTI CH or over anolog outs which shows up as EXT IN on my receiver. It is BD Live, but does not have Wi Fi which is something I would like to see on the expensive models. The sound and the picture are wonderful to my eyes. For Video I use the Sony VPL-VW100 Projector onto a 106″ Stewart Filmscreen. I also have a PS3 that now resides in my bedroom.
5 Stars Superior product
terrific, best H.D picture I have ever seen Hooked up to a sony es 5300 and sony xbr 5. Easy ,Hdmi cable does it all. Sound full 7.1 surround ( unbeliveable) took 5 minutes to install and have it up and running perfectly………………
5 Stars AWESOME!!
I am so glad I waited for this player. The picture and sound are fantastic and I couldn’t be happier. The only “issue” I had was the memory card which came with the player. It had an intermittent contact problem that I tracked down to the card itself. I talked to no less than 4 different customer service representatives before I found one who instructed me to send JUST the memory card to their service facility. The others wanted me to box up the whole player and send it back, all for a $12 memory card. Once the card was received by the service center, the technician called to verify the problem and my troubleshooting steps. He not only sent me a new memory card but 3 movies for my trouble. Though frustrating at times, ALL the customer service agents were very polite and wanted to help. But if the issue isn’t “in the script”, it seemed to cause a lot of confusion.
5 Stars Simply the best
There’s no better unit out on the market at this time for the money. This upconverts you old dvd’s and cd’s to spectacular video and sounds.
and Amazon is the place to buy it with free S+H.

5 Stars Good Stuff!!
I got a new blu-ray player Sony BDP-S350 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player and was having some problems with the picture dropping off. My friend suggested trying a new HDMI Cable and after doing some homework I chose this Mediabridge cable. Ordered it and got it in the mail quick. Easy to plug in and set up and now our movies look like they should! Obviously that other HDMI cable was NOT working properly even though we did pay more $$ for it! Maybe the other HDMI cable was defective but anyway everything is working great now. I also bought a toslink Mediabridge Toslink Cable – 6ft – Optical Digital Audio Cable and component cable Mediabridge Bundled RCA Component Video Cable – 6ft to hook up my cable box. They worked well also. Very happy.
5 Stars Hi quality at a great price. Period.
This cable delivers. It is heavy duty, has the latest technology, and it works. There are some hdmi cables on Amazon that are crap. This one from Mediabridge is the best choice. Or you can spend 7X more money for a monster cable that performs no better than this one. Uh…let me see….
5 Stars Great Purchase
Are you looking for a quality Category 2 HDMI cable that is six feet in length with a black coat? This is it. Stop looking at those other expensive cables because this is all you need. I have two of these running from my cable box and PS3 to my new LCD TV, and they work exactly as they should. Delivered on time, no issues. Go for it!
1 Star This cable performed the worst in my test of three HDMI cables
Tested this product against 2 other hdmi cables and it had the lowest quality.. It washed out the colors and created a softer image. Then it started dropping the video intermittently, to where I would get no signal at all. Stay away.
5 Stars Solid Construction
This cable is very well made. Definitely seems a bit thicker than normal. Version 1.3 is printed right on the jacket. Audio and video are awesome coming out of my Sony BDP-S550 Sony BDP-S550 1080p Blu-ray Player The connectors fit tightly into both my Blu-Ray player and my PS3. The packaging was good.
Overall very happy.

Panasonic DMP BD55K 1080p Blu Ray Player

BD-Live: Enjoy Additional Content via Internet (requires optional SD card) / PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus / Also plays DVD, CD, DiVX
5 Stars Best Blu-ray Player and I’ve tried Three
Pros: Excellent Picture Quality for both Blu-ray’s and Standard DVD’s. Sound using analog output sounds amazing. It’s 2.0 right out of the box. Can play pretty much anything. Has lot os extras in menu to work with. Slick and pretty dang cool to look at.
Cons: Not really a con but it uses SD cards rather than USB. But I guess that’s actually a good thing so you can view photos and such.
Summary: I have tried three different players. I have a Samsung TV and thought that it would be a good thing to have a Samsung Blu-ray to go along with it. I had immediate problems with it. I then tried the Sony 350 which I had problems and some personal dislikes so I returned that one. After realizing I just needed to spend the money I went and picked up the Panny BD55. It is worth every penny. It surpases the picture quality and the sound quality of boththe Samsung 1500 and the Sony 350. The analogs out are great for anyone with an older receiver. The sound is fantastic. I picked up the incredible Hulk on Blu-ray and it was shaking the room. The menu is great and has tons of settings for those of us who like to tweak things. It is a beautiful looking player which you can easily find yourself staring at it. One thing that was very surprising is that the Vierra link works with My Samsung LN46A650 AnyNet function so the Blu-ray player and my tv will interact with one another. I turn the player on and the tv will turn on and change to the Blu-ray source. I turn the TV off and the player will turn off. It’s pretty nifty. All in all it’s a great player and probably the best that’s out there right now. If you have the money go for it, it’s worth it. If you don’t need the analog out go for it’s little brother the BD35.
5 Stars Incredible
The picture the BD55 player puts out along with the sound quality will blow you away. There is no downside to this player. I never knew my Sony HDTV could look so good.
5 Stars Amazing
Starts up fast, upconverts great, sound is amazing. Easy to use … As soon as I got it I upgraded from ver 1.0 of the firmware to 1.5 (worth knowing its there). 1080 over component for blu ray DVDs or non HMDI tvs and 480 over component for non blu ray dvds
5 Stars Best Blu-ray Bang for the Buck
Many people have been waiting a long time for a Blu-ray Disc player like the DMP-BD55 to come along: one that supports native decoding and bitstreaming of *all* of the high definition audio formats (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, multi-channel PCM), with full Profile 1.1 and 2.0 support (BonusView and BD-Live), with reasonably fast loading times and good BD-Java interactivity, with outstanding Blu-ray Disc image quality and acceptable upconversion of standard DVDs. And I’m happy to say the BD55 satifies on all of these levels.
Although some say the PS3 is still the best Blu-ray Disc player, the PS3 lacks bitstreaming support for DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD (which some people want), and it does not integrate as well with a home theater system due to its lack of IR or RF remote control support. Yes I know all about the Nyko IR remote for the PS3, but that is missing some core controls like POWER so it will not get you the whole way there. Also, the BD55 (and its little brother, the equally impressive BD35) are actually less expensive than the PS3, and they’ve come a long way in disc loading and boot-up times such that these new BD players actually load some discs a little bit *faster* than the PS3 (details below). The PS3 still wins in overall boot-up time and in loading and interaction with BD-Java discs, but the new Panasonics are among the first to give the PS3 a run for its money in this department.
Where the BD55 wins over virtually all of the competition (including the PS3) is in its treatment of Blu-ray Discs, both from a picture performance standpoint and in the audio department. On the “big picture” front, the unit includes Panasonic’s newly improved UniPhier chip which intelligently upconverts the native 4:2:0 encoding on a Blu-ray discs to 4:4:4 output. What this means from a layman’s perspective is that the player restores missing color detail to each pixel in the 1920×1080 image. And while this doesn’t make a big difference on smaller sized screens, it does noticeably improve color detail on the larger flat panel and projection screens which you’re likely to find in a home theater system. Also, the BD55 has enhanced SD upconversion over its predecessors that makes watching DVDs a lot more enjoyable. It’s not quite the equal the the best upconverting DVD players on the market, but it’s not that far off either.
On the sound front, the BD55 includes 5.1 and 7.1-channel analog outputs with full decoding of multi-channel PCM, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. This makes it an excellent choice to add to a high-end multi-channel preamp/processor or receiver which lacks HDMI inputs. The multi-channel analog output allows you to take full advantage of the latest and greatest audio formats available on Blu-ray Disc. If you haven’t heard these new formats yet, you’re in for a treat as they exactly match the original studio recordings in quality and it can give your home theater system quite a work out! The BD55 is one of very few players on the market today that offers this feature (multi-channel analog out). The PS3 does not offer this. And while the Samsung BD-P2500 and BD-P2550 do offer multi-channel analog outputs, they do not currently offer native decoding of DTS-HD Master Audio (though there is some conflicting information as to whether this may be delivered in the future via a firmware upgrade).
For those with more modern surround sound equipment, the BD55 can output multi-channel Blu-ray Discs and DVDs in the native “bitstream” or it can decode the bitstream to full resolution uncompressed PCM. The choice is yours based on the capabilities of your specific home theater system.
One of the first things we measured when we got the BD55 in for review was the boot-up and disc-loading time. First and second generation BD players were painfully slow to boot up and to load discs. While the BD55 does take 24 seconds to boot up (vs. the PS3’s 9 seconds), the BD55 was actually quicker to load a standard (non-Java) Blu-ray Disc than the PS3 – about 9 seconds faster, to be precise – and it was about 6 seconds faster to load a standard DVD. For a BD Java-heavy disc like “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” the BD55 loaded up the disc in about 45 seconds, which is only about 5 seconds slower than the PS3. The PS3, with its super-fast Cell processor, is still better (and quicker) in its interactivity with BD-Java-based menus and BD-Live, but the BD55 is certainly in the same ballpark. What’s important here is that the delays in playback are short enough that they won’t bother most people, and the huge improvement in picture and sound quality over standard DVD make Blu-ray playback on the BD55 worth the wait.
The DMP-BD55 is by no means a “perfect” player – all CE components have their quirks. SD conversion on specialized upconverting DVD players such as the higher end Oppo players or the Silicon Optix HQV-based players is definitely better than the SD upconversion on the BD55, but not so much as to bother me (and I’m pretty picky). Overall, the BD55 provides one of the stongest feature sets and performance packages available today, and it does it at a price in line with most home theater fans’ budgets. So it gets my enthusiastic recommendation.
More information is available in our full review on Big Picture Big Sound.
5 Stars Really happy with this player
I’m really glad I waited for this model. Using the 8ch analog outputs it allows me to use my old Yamaha reciever that I really have grown to love the sound from. When on the analog output it gives channel volume adjustments within the player. It also simultaneously outputs optical digital so for the older formats I can let the reciever do the decoding and use the 5.1 features there. The configuration and menu features are great. Load times are fast enough for me. This is my first blu-ray player so I don’t have comparisons. The pic quality is fantastic. I’m running mine at 720P as I have a 720P projector, so I can’t speak to the 1080P features. For my set up this is a major upgrade. The upconverting to 720P for standard DVDs, mp3 and audio playback are all smooth and great sounding as well.

Sony Bravia M Series KDL 32M4000 32 Inch 720p LCD HDTV

The Sony BRAVIA HDTV KDL-32M4000 offers Sony HD expertise combining the right combination of style, features and performance at an entry-level price.
5 Stars Great TV, Great Price!!
So far I have been very happy with this TV, I bought it to use as a bedroom TV.
Now, I have had and HD TV in my living room for a few years now (another Sony) and now that I have this one I see some of the changes made to the newer TVs and now I want to replace the living room TV because of these changes. Seems like there have been some very nice ’software’ upgrades as far as the menu system and some of the features I wish my older TV had.
I didn’t buy it from Amazon but I did get it for the same price. Very good price for a very good TV. Very impressive HD picture, and I have it hooked up to my computer and it makes a great monitor. If I wish something was different I would like change the source of the PIP window when using my computer, as it stands right now this can not be done I can only watch an over the air antenna while using my computer.
Over all great product for a great price, just shop around.
5 Stars Beautiful Picture – Great Value – Highly Recommended!
I love this television. The picture is gorgeous and requires no adjustments. I’m using it with my DirecTV HD connection. 720P is just fine for this screen size – you really don’t need 1080P and couldn’t probably tell the difference on a 32″ screen.
5 Stars Great for the Money
It’s a great TV for the money. Excellent picture quality coupled with intuitive menus reinforce my decision to go with Sony. For 720P the picture is sharp and clear, slight blurring on fast moving objects, but that’s common on LCD’s, at least with today’s technology. Shipping was fast and free, what’s not to like.
5 Stars Sony, The One and Only
This TV set is simply wonderful! Picture is sharp as well as definition.I also own a Samsung 40 inch set. My new Sony is absolutely superior in all possible aspects. After all, it’s a SONY!!!It’s a sure shot!
5 Stars Excellent Purchase
We purchased this TV for our family and they love it. It has a great picture and tremendous sound for such small looking speakers. We are hopeful that it will have the Sony reliability and longevity….time will tell !

CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32 63 DISPLAYS UP TO 180LBS BLACK

This is a very substantial mount with Dual arms and over 30lbs of steel. The arms extend over 20″ from the wall yet fold to less than 5″. Even at full extension, this mount has very little sag or twist. It is rated for up to 180lbs and most displays 52″ and smaller weigh under 100lbs. The unit has 4 tilt adjustment knobs and two tilt adjustment screws and it will tilt forward or back 15 degrees. The wall plate is over 19″ wide and has wide slots making it easy to mount into standard 16″ studs even if they are not exactly 16″ apart. The TV plate is 32″ wide and the arms fold outward when pushed up against the wall. Thus, the TV plate and possibly the arms may be visible on the sides of 32″ units. The universal design will fit any display with a hole pattern up to 26.3″ wide and 18″ tall. The wall plate is 1/8″ thick and very stable and includes a large center hole for cable pass-though into the wall. This mount will swivel approximately 120 degrees depending on the size of your display. Installation instructions and hardware included.
5 Stars Stout Wall Mount
Bought this mount for a Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color also purchased at Amazon.
I was impressed with the sheer weight of this mount as it weighs nearly as much as the TV I mounted to it. It left me with the impression it could hold what it claims (165 lbs.). I weigh around 260 lbs. and leaned heavily on the empty mount after I put it on the wall (before attaching TV) and it didn’t budge.
Its appearance is somewhat stylish for what it is. I have it tilted out fairly well so there is quite a bit showing to any who enter the room, yet it blends w/ the back of the TV and looks professional.
The instructions were a bit flaky, but it got the point across as I was able to mount it and this was the first time I have installed a wall mount. Although, I do consider myself fairly intelligent and do DIY stuff all the time so I’m not new to such things.
The range of movement is awesome…this thing will move any which way you try and with a fair amount of ease. I didn’t mess with any “settings” as the instructions didn’t say much about any of the levers on it. It did what I wanted by default.
Altogether a good buy and I recommend this mount to anyone.
5 Stars Very sturdy
We bought this for our son. He installed it by himself and said he was very impressed with how solid it is. It allows the tv to be adjusted in several different directions and has a roller that levels the tv. He was very happy with it and said the quality was top notch.
3 Stars Dimension problems
The product description states the mount is 3.5 inches from the wall. This is true for the back part of the mount but when you include the hanging brackets that mount to the TV, the total distance from the wall to the back of the TV is about 4 and 5/8 inches. This causes me a problem since I am mounting the TV inside a cabinet that is only 8 inches deep – probably won’t work for me. Also, the mechanism works very hard. If I very slightly loosen the bolts on the arms, it works easier but then the mount becomes wobbly.
Also, when laying a straight edge across the back of the wall mounting plate, I discovered the plate is warped (at least 1/8 inch from edge to center).
Good concept but doesn’t quite perform.
5 Stars awesome
Sits about 3inches away from wall. Avoid if you want a flush fit, but since you are looking for a mount with arms that is not an issue for you. This unit will NOT twist or bent under load. Feels strong yet wife can move the LCD without effort.
5 Stars I love this wall mount!!
I bought a 50″ Plasma and decided it would be best on my wall. I went looking through stores and found higher prices than this one and bulkier designs.
I love the articulating arms!! I can pull it away from the wall to access the wires, etc. and adjust the left to right tilt for best viewing. It seems very sturdy and has worked great for me the last six months.
It was easy enough to mount to the wall but if you are not good with tools seek experienced assistance. You will need someone to hold it up for you unless you are good at this sort of thing. The hardest part was hanging the TV and that was only due to the weight of it.
Note: Make sure you have wall studs with 16″ centers if mounting to drywall!! I bought it not realizing I had 24″ centers on that one wall. This caused me to mount it to a steel plate so it could get anchored to the studs (The 50″ TV weighed 125lbs!!)

5 Stars Great TV!
I must be fairly lucky, I ordered this TV through amazon and was a little bit worried about getting a bad set…but It’s perfect. No clouding visible to the human eye. Blacks are very black, better than the xbr4. It’s almost perfect, some minor viewing inconsitencies but compared to every other TV I would rate this probably the best you can get(even though I have not seen any of the LED models). I even heard about the Pio Kuro Elite having noticeable smearing, and this set has basically none. I have no dead pixels, no smearing, no ghosting. I would say from everything I have gone through and through my research, this would be the best TV to get. Although the sharpness the XBR4 can outclass by a small margin, It’s a big trade off for the consistency in the picture and the black levels. Most people probably wouldn’t even notice. This TV is UNBELIEVABLE!
4 Stars Awesome TV!
I ordered from the Warehouse Deals from Amazon.com. The TV arrived 4 days after shipment. It was in the original box. However, the box had been opened as was noted in the description. There are no scratches or dents on the TV. Other than a bit of packing dust, it was in perfect condition. I would recommend the Warehouse Deals.
The quality of the picture is incredible! This was a top rated LCD by Consumer Reports, so after viewing for a few days, it was easy to see why.
The only drawback to this TV that I have found is that there is no output jack from the TV tuner. As a result, I am unable to record a DVD using my tunerless Samsung DVD Recorder.
Overall, a great TV for the price!
5 Stars Extremely satisfied
I bought this tv in June (not from Amazon. Found it cheaper elsewhere) and have been in love with it ever since. Based on my purchase, I strongly look for Samsung products now when I am shopping for other electronics. Picture quality is excellent. Design is delightful. My only complaints are 1. it seems a little slow turning on or switching between devices (but that isn’t much of an issue compared to the quality of the product). 2. The wireless connectivity seems pointless since all I can use it for is newsfeeds, weather, and stockfeed (I was disappointed that the wireless capabilities came out just as I purchased my tv and mine didn’t have it, but as a pleasant surprise, Samsung sent me the wireless connection as a free gift after registering the product with them).
I highly recommend this product and have no regrets (other than watching the price drop as newer versions come out). Excellent tv!
4 Stars Great Picture
This has been our first large screen TV and it is such a wonderful, clear picture. It is great especially for watching nature programs or movies. I have never watched as much TV as I do now.
Our friends have a large screen projection TV and it seems to have a darker, fuzzier picture. Plus, it fades out when you stand off to the side. Our LCD does not do that. This makes it perfect for our living room since we have a couple of chairs that are kind of off to one side–everyone gets to watch the same great picture.
We’ve had our TV now for about 8 months and have had no problems at all.
5 Stars Incredible TV
I finally decided to upgrade from my 36″ tube tv. I was debating between the 46″ and 52″ Samsung A650. I really wanted the bigger tv but didn’t want to spend $500 more on it. Then I found out about Amazon’s warehouse deals. I was able to get the 52″ tv for $1640 plus shipping (shipping isn’t free when it is warehouse deal). Even including shipping, I only ended up paying $175 more than the 46″ new version.
At first I was hesitant because the description says “cosmetic blemishes”. But after reading the success other purchases had with warehouse deals, I was sold.
The TV was delivered 5 days after I ordered it. It didn’t come in the Samsung Box, but really, does that matter? I inspected the tv, but couldn’t find a single thing wrong with it. Everything on it is amazing. Even after a few weeks, I’m still in awe when I watch tv.
If you are like me and can’t decide between the 46″ and 52″, go for the 52″ warehouse deal. You save money and will be much happier in the long run.

Panasonic DMP BD30K 1080p Blu ray Disc Player

The DMP-BD30 is the next generation High Definition 1080p Blu-ray Disc player. It is the first Blu-ray player to be introduced with Final Standard Profile, which adds a variety of new and enhanced features to the Blu-ray arena and one that separates the Panasonic Blu-ray player from the rest of the field. Also unique to the DMP-BD30 is the inclusion of an SD Memory Card slot for playback of High Definition content recorded in the AVCHD format. The SD slot also allows for viewing of digital still images recorded to an SD Memory Card.Final Standard Profile is an advanced function added to the Blu-ray standard, which opens the door to new functions such as Picture-in-Picture (which displays a second image in a sub window) and Audio Mixing (allows the consumer to switch the sound between the main and sub windows). The inclusion of a multi-function SD Card slot is another new addition to the Panasonic Blu-ray player. Coupled with the AVCHD codec, the DMP-BD30 allows for images recorded on a high capacity HD SD card to be outputted directly from the player’s HDMI terminal in their original 1080p form. To further benefit the user, the DMP-BD30 provides an AVCHD Direct Navigator function that makes it easy to search for particular scenes. The player can also play back JPEG still images on an SD card, such as those recorded with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera. The DMP-BD30 converts the images to 1920×1080 resolution, ideal for viewing on a1080p HD Plasma and output them through the HDMI terminal.Like its predecessor, the DMP-DB30 features the EZ-Sync HDAVI Control that allows the consumer to operate their Panasonic home theater system with one remote. With one touch of the EZ-Sync button, all the components turn on, the correct TV input is chosen, the TV’s built-in speakers are muted and the home theater starts playback.

3 Stars Some important features missing versus DVD players
I will say I am impressed with the audio/video quality of this machine. However, it seems that the more sophisticated user interface features depend upon the disk, not the machine, so some features like stop-resume described in the manual may not (and often don’t) work. Furthermore, basics like resuming playback after switching off power are missing. This is a damn nuisance – each time you switch the power on you have to go through the entire disk initialization (quite slow at 30 seconds), and then through the forced copyright warnings, and then through the chapters to find your previous position – about 1.5 minutes total. The controls also seem to have a slow response (~1 second) in many cases. This is like going back to the stone age after using a recent DVD player.
Furthermore my DVD player has a 5-disk carousel (essential if different family members watch different films), and it can remember the last played position for up to 500 movies. When are they going to make carousel players for blu-ray? It may seem that I am unjustly picking on this player if others lack these same features – but it is my first player, and I can only write as I find.
5 Stars Excellent image, easy to use
Made my choice on this product over a SONY model.
First time set up is really easy — plug in and change a few on-screen menu items, that’s it! Only the audio part took another try to output Dolby 5.1.
Test the machine on BBC’s Planet Earth, really crisp images and vivid colors.
5 Stars My first Blu-Ray
This is my first Blu-Ray player. I purchased it after updating from a 27″ CRT to a 50″ Plasma. I bought this around the first of September from Amazon and I was very pleased with their customer service. Fast shipping on the product and no issues with it working. I chose this player based on reviews from [...]
The menus were really easy to navigate for set-up of first time features. Remote buttons are well labeled. I am most impressed with this player due to it’s short load times. After putting in a movie I am at the main menu usually within 20 seconds. Some movies take a little longer but not much. I was really concerned about this when purchasing the player because I’d read several comments about some players taking minutes to load.
Picture quality and colors are great. This is my first HD television and Blu-Ray player so I cannot compare it to others, but for a first set-up I am more than satisfied. I’ve seen some upconversion of SD material that was really good, and some that was mediocre at best so I think the quality of the source material has a huge impact on upconversion quality.
Recently Panasonic has released the BD-35 so these units are going obsolete. The price of them should fall pretty low soon when the stores get desperate to close them out so keep an eye out.
5 Stars Better than 1080p?
I don’t know sony does it(blue ray). But now I know how they won the HD war. This player was as cheap as the sony and all aspects of it’s operation and function’installation, and set up are simple and quick.Picture is amazing, even compared to 1080p satellite!
